Bye Bye, Pepito!

Well, I had to give up Pepito today to the Austin Humane Society today. I admit, I was a little sad to see him go but I know that he will get adopted in a heartbeat. He is way too cute and sweet plus he's Siamese so he will have a lot of people lining up trying to adopt him. It's sad but true. There are more people who want a fluffy Siamese cat then a brown tabby but if they are kittens chances are they'll both get adopted. After dropping off Pepito, we brought his older brother into our home. He looks exactly like Pepito but he is much more feral and shy. I hope that we are able to tame him some so he can find himself a good home, too, just like his brother.

Lupita and Don Gato!

Here is a cuddly little photo of my sister's cats. She ended up adopting devil kitten, Lupita. She is making progress and as you can tell by the photo she is starting to relax around my sister and Don Gato. I admit I was quite surprised when my sister wanted to adopt her. She is very feral and needs a lot of socialization but she has the potential to be a great cat. Don Gato still isn't doing to good but he is hanging in there for now and he seems to tolerate the kitten well. There have only been a few incidents where there was some screaming involved. I am just glad that they found each other because my sister adores Lupita and I can tell that Lupita is thinking of my sister as her mommy. Posted by Picasa

Devil Kitten aka Lupita!

Here is a picture of our most recent foster kitten, Lupita. I wish I had a picture of more than her face looking pissy but she is pretty wild and would cram herself into the smallest space possible if I let her go for a body shot. I think it was appropriate that this picture of her has red eyes since she is a little bit of a devil. For such a fluffy cat she is the dirtiest little kitten I have ever fostered. She likes to use the litter box then dunk her paws in her water bowl hardening the litter between her toes into tiny little rocks that grow every time she does this. I had to soak her paws in water just to soften them up. Pepito is happy that he has a little buddy but I have separated so Lupita can get some human socialization. Don Gato is still hanging in there and we are making him comfortable for now. We were hoping for some good news today at the vet's but we didn't get it so there is nothing more to do now but wait. Hopefully, I will get some more pictures of Lupita that show that she really is a cute kitten and not possessed by the devil. Posted by Picasa

Don Gato and Mr. Darcy!

Don Gato is still not doing very well but he is hanging in there for our sakes. It sucks. I just hope that he will tell us when he has had enough. This picture was taken last weekend right before we were going to take him to the vet. I think it's kind of funny because Amy is holding Don Gato, a white and black cat, while one of the neighborhood kitties that we have kind of adopted, Mr. Darcy, a black and white cat, is in the same shot. It reminds me of that episode of the original Star Trek where there where the two races that looked basically the same but hated the other because the color of their skin which is black and white on either side was inverted. The only exception here is that these two guys get along. We tried to foster Mr. Darcy so he could get adopted by us but he refused to use the litter box, he preferred my sister's bathtub instead. So, now I am fostering a new kitten and it brings the total to two for now. I am trying to take a picture of her because she is too cute! She is crazy feral but is the most gorgeous cat I have ever seen. I will post that picture soon! Posted by Picasa

The newest little foster kitten and updates on Don Gato!

I have been having computer problems lately and this is the first time that I have been able to post a picture. Whew! I think I deserve a pat on the back but seriously, I think my husband did all the work. This is the new picture of our most recent foster kitten. I've had him since Friday and so far so good. We have named him Pepito Encherito Blancito. Hey, he is Latin so he gets a really long name. The big brown cat is my Munchkin and he is a lover of kittens. He is always the best daddy and it looks like he has a new buddy. I like how he curled his tail around Pepito, it's too cute! I have some more fosters on the way but they were just born this weekend and won't be ready for a couple more weeks, so Pepito gets to be the only crazy kitten in the house besides my regular kitties. As you all know Don Gato was in the hospital and has been sick for last two weeks. Well, my sister decided to put him to sleep on Saturday but at the last minute he took a turn for the better and the vet decided to give the guy more time. He isn't out of the woods yet but he is stable and that is good news to us. I will keep you guys updated but in the meantime I will be praying for Don Gato for a quick recovery and Pepito on finding a good home. Tschuss!
