Frog legs taste like cheekin'!
The hubby wasn't feeling so well today. Austin and its freaking allergies. Ragweed is really high plus after today's rain mold is going to suck tomorrow. Anyways, the hubby wanted some Cajun food. So we moised on down to the Evangeline Cafe located in South Austin. We get there and the place is pretty busy. I can tell the hubby was feeling bad and it didn't help that I was starving and decided to try some frog legs. Leave it to me to eat something seafood related when my husband can't look at it without cringing. Plus, the husband is allergic to sea/amphibian food. I've never eaten them before so it was kind of an adventure. They came out all breaded and cute looking like little legs with some sauce on the side. Well, I took the breading off because I am all about the meat and it was pretty tasty. Kind of chewy but tasted like chicken. The meat looked kind of orangey which was weird but yummy. I ate them all while the hubby looked on in a kind of icked out way. I think he had a flashback to when I had alligator at Papadeaux's. The alligator I didn't like so much. I am more a lover of the frog legs. I then ate some red beans and rice while my husband munched away on his chicken fried steak. I overate but I enjoyed every bit of it and in the end my husband felt a little bit better after some comfort food. Feel better soon, sweetie!

Hey, I applauded the fact that you didn't toss your cookies wathing me eat those tasty legs. I had one of my girlfriends dry heaving from the description. I guess it didn't help that she was a vegetarian and I was eating frog bodies.
Even if I wasn't vegan, I don't think I could eat frog legs...they'd remind me of The Muppet Movie. You're very brave!
