My sister getting friendly with an alligator!

Close to the Great Dunes National Park is an alligator farm. We, of course, had to go. My sister is from Florida and I love anything that could possible take you down and eat you. My sister was convinced to hold this alligator for a prime picture taking moment. You may catch a glimpse of the pure terror in her eyes. We also saw some crazy dude feeding Morris, who happens to be a famous movie star alligator. We left but maybe someday I may go back and get an autograph from Morris, he was kind of cute in a scaly Brad Pitt kind of way.

Happy Outhouse Fun!

Here is my sister using the outhouse that is more into the ranch. It wasn't as pretty as the other one and it didn't have running water. My sister freaked out when she first saw it and I had to clean out the branches and leaf litter. Thank God they had a broom and of course the all important toilet paper. After I was done with it...it was beautiful. All I needed was a scented candle and maybe some wallpaper to make it cowgirl complete.

Say hello to my little friend!

One of the wranglers caught this little fellow and showed him to me. I have never seen a horny toad in real life and was suprised to learn how small he was. I was also suprised to learn that this little guy was a baby and that he'll get much bigger. What a nice suprise when just riding around on a pretty day.

I was in the little house on the prairie and it smelled good!

Here is a picture of my sister jumping out and snapping a picture of me coming out of the ranch's posh outhouse which I might add was not bad. I have been in some scary outhouses but this one had a window and running water. What a nice place to take a bathroom break. The only bad thing is the sister jumping out and taking a picture of me.

The best vacation EVER!

Here I am at the Great Dunes National Park in Colorado. I believe in the pix are the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in the background. As you can tell in the picture I was just soaking up the surroundings. I am a Texas girl so I have never seen mountains before. I think I just stood in awe for about 5 minutes before I realized my sister was asking a question. What you don't see in the pix are the Sand Dunes. It's kind of strange that there is a big sandbox in between some mountain chains but it is kind of cool to try to attempt to get to the top. We were optimistic until we were 1/3 the way up then we turned around. I felt like my lungs were going to burst out of my chest. I think it was the combination of the altitude and dry air. I didn't think it was hot since it was only in the high 80's and Texas was already in the high 90's so it felt great to me.

I really appreciate that my sister took me on vacation with her to a dude ranch in La Veta, Colorado. We had a great time on our estrogen only vacation. We got to meet some great people and I rode, went skeet shooting, fishing and more. But I was so glad to be home, too. I missed my husband and kitties and all the responsibilities that life brings. I planning the next vacation to a beach somewhere. I loved the dude ranch but my ass was sore for days and it was painful just to sit. Also, I flew on the smallest plane to date. It was a combination aisle and window seat. The ride was bumpier but it put me right to sleep. I got to thank that corpse move from yoga or Seinfeld. Overall, I had tons of fun hanging with my sister and next time we go some place where the tan I get is nice and even and not the farmer's tan I got now.

Whatz up!

Hey, folks. I am sorry about not doing any posts lately but I have been waiting for my sister to download the thousand photos she took on our vacation to Colorado. I had so much fun and I won't spoil it until I have at least one picture. Let's just say there are photos involving horses, sand dunes, alligators and even a horny toad. So hold your horses and stay tuned.
